Arcada is maintained by the Arcada Foundation which is assigned to embrace education in Swedish at a level of univesity of applied sciences in Finland Arcada is ECTS-certified since the spring 2004
There are about 170 staff members and 2000 students at Arcada Arcada offers 15 degree programmes three of them are in English Furthermore Arcada offers specialisation studies professionally orientated supplemental training and open courses within the frames of Arcada Further Education
Arcada consists of three educational departments
* The Department of Health Care and Social Services
* The Department of Business Administration Media and Technology
* The Department of Languages and General Studies
Furthermore there is now a Department of Student Affairs to support the students during the entire study process The department is in charge of admissions student exchange curriculum work student financial support student counselling the recruitment centre alumni quality assurance further education the open courses and marketing
In order to coordinate and develop research at Arcada the Director of Research and Development Work was appointed
