Internship-UK Working Hours
In order to help students integrate and develop a good work ethic and work-life balance at Internship-UK we are flexible with our work schedules.
This allows our interns to create a timetable that is suitable and adaptable so that they can enjoy their free time during their internship.
We ask that our interns work a minimum of 40 hours per week and 8 hours per day for five days. Included in all our shifts is a one hour lunch break with meals provided by our company. At Internship-UK we allow our interns to decide how they would like to schedule their timetables and breaks.
New Romney is a small coastal market town in the south east of Kent on the edge of the Romney Marsh, an area of rich agricultural land and natural beauty. New Romney, like many of the towns across the Romney Marsh, has a wealth of history. Originally a sea port, New Romney is now a peaceful celebrated area of natural beauty retaining several classical structures including an impressive Norman church in the centre of town.
Directions to New Romney
If you are arriving from overseas it is easiest to fly into one of the following London airports:
- Heathrow (North West London)
- Stansted (North East London)
- Gatwick (South London)
- Luton (North East London)
- City Airport (Central London)
To reach our office in New Romney, we advise you choose to arrive at Gatwick airport as this is the most practical London airport for reaching the South East of England.
From London we advise that you take the train to Ashford International (Kent) or the bus to Ashford town. On your have arrival in Ashford we can arrange for a pick up service that will be able to transport you to your accommodation near to our office.
Alternatively, if you wish to travel by car, New Romney is easily accessible by road, via the A259 (which runs from Dover to Portsmouth). Coming from London, take the M20 to Ashford sand follow the signs to New Romney.

Social and community life in New Romney
New Romney is a peaceful rural town that provides the perfect balance between your vocational training and social life. There is no time for our interns to get bored during their stay with us, as we regularly organise parties and events to allow them to relax and unwind after a work day. There is a gym and a sports centre located near our office. This is a great opportunity for our interns to keep fit and meet the local people. In addition there are football pitches, golf courses and sports halls near by. There is also a town centre with pubs, restaurants a supermarket and shops for all your needs.
Our office is situated only a few minutes from the beach. Where you can find a great view of the English Channel and France (on a clear day). For interns who like to travel, New Romney has easy access via Ashford International station, to many destinations in the UK. In addition we regularly organise trips for our interns to interesting sites and locations in the South East. Furthermore our events team organise a wide variety of activities and nights out.
What to visit in Kent
- Ashford: Ashford has a large retail outlet and via Ashford international with easy access to the rest of the country. It once was a major agricultural market town and still holds regular auctions and farmers markets. Ashford is located approximately 20 minutes from our head office in New Romney.
- Brighton: Brighton is a popular city resort, it has a vibrant culture and is famous for its night life and music scene. It is a popular tourist destination with many beautiful sites to visit such as the Royal Pavilion and the Brighton Pier.
- Canterbury: The city of Canterbury is an important tourist destination, it’s Cathedral is a world heritage site, it is famous for its historical background, and also has many designer and retro shops. It also has a major university based there and consequently a lively student lifestyle and night life.
- Dover: Is a coastal city and a major ferry port in the South east of the UK. Dover is famous for it’s iconic white cliffs and historical value in WW11.
To reach London take the National Rail Services to King's Cross / St Pancras Station. From Kings Cross you can take the Piccadilly Line Eastbound (tube) to Manor House station by Finsbury park. From Manor House station our flatshares are only a short walk away. Upon arriving at Manor House station you cancontact us for further details on how to reach our office.
London is a city with historical and modern buildings providing a most amazing cityscape, with art galleries, musuems, parks and many other tourist attractions and students' niches. You will need more than a day to see and feel the multiculural atmosphere that will surround you.
